The Arbeitsgemeinschaft Süddeutscher Rinderzucht- und Besamungsorganisationen e.V. (ASR) is an association of state-recognised breeding and insemination organisations for the breeds Fleckvieh, Braunvieh, Gelbvieh, Vorderwälder, Hinterwälder, Limpurger, Glanrinder, Murnau-Werdenfelser and Pinzgauer.

The purpose of the association is to promote cattle breeding and husbandry for the aforementioned breeds and organisations, in particular by

• Coordination in all generally interesting and fundamental questions of cattle breeding and husbandry, artificial insemination, embryo transfer and other biotechnologies,
• developing framework rules for breeding and insemination,
• Joint representation of interests at home and abroad,
• Establishment and management of performance books,
• communicating scientific and technical advances to the affiliated organisations.
