The DGfZ is the official representative of the Federal Republic of Germany in the European Association for Animal Sciences (EAAP). The European Association for Animal Sciences or EAAP is an international non-governmental organization whose aim is to improve the knowledge and dissemination of research results in the field of livestock farming. Central to the EAAP are its 11 expert commissions, which develop cross-animal solutions to current specific scientific, technical and economic issues in the field of animal production.
Currently, 34 countries are organized in the EVT. However, numerous non-European institutions are also represented in the community. When the EAAP was founded in 1949, the German Society of Animal Production (DGFZ) was one of 12 founding members on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture.
In 2026, the EAAP conference will once again take place in Germany - in Hamburg - at the CCH from September 7 to 11.
