SODIUM FORMATE

Sodium formate is a white granular or crystalline powder at room temperature, slightly deliquescent, non-toxic, non-corrosive, non-flammable. It’s soluble in water and glycerol, slightly soluble in ethanol and octanol, and insoluble in ether.

Sodium formate has a wide range of applications. In the chemical industry, it could be used to produce Sodium Hydrosulfite and Formic Acid. In the pharmaceutical industry, it could be used to produce guanine and synthesize antiviral drug acyclovir. In The leather industry, sodium formate could be used as disguising acid in chrome tanning process, catalysts and stable synthesis agents. In the printing and dyeing industry, sodium formate could be used as reducing agents. Sodium formate could also be used as a chemical analysis reagent to determine the content of arsenic and phosphorus. Besides, sodium formate could be used as a disinfectant, mordant, snowmelt agent, water treatment agent, oilfield additive, cement additive and other industries.
