This modern farrowing pen offers a clear structure for good animal control and high labour efficiency in the farrowing pen. The design of the pen floor with different elements ensures that the piglets are guided into their farrowing nest. The suckling piglets stay away from the cast iron slats on the sow's lying area and keep returning to their warm nest via escape zones around the pen. This minimises crushing losses. The piglet box, which is enclosed with a transparent lid, has its own microclimate area so that the compartment can be run cooler overall and ideal temperatures are created for sow and piglets. This also ensures energy efficiency.
