Benzoic acid

Benzoic   acid is mainly used as a preservative and antibacterial agent in feed additives.   Its main role is to extend the shelf life of feed and maintain its   nutritional value, while preventing the growth of harmful microorganisms.

The   following are some specific applications of benzoic acid in feed additives:

5.   Feeding effect: Benzoic acid is also called benzoin acid, because after   dissolving in water, it can emit the taste of benzoin, which can promote   livestock eating and increase their food intake.
