Biotaktix SubstratScan wins Silver at the Innovation Award EnergyDecentral 2026
Biotaktix SubstratScan has been awarded the Silver Medal at the Innovation Award EnergyDecentral 2026. The award-winning solution combines NIR sensor technology with the digital management of biogas and biomethane plants, integrating substrate analysis directly into the Biotaktix biogas software.
The DLG expert jury particularly highlighted the integration of different processes into one end-to-end system:
“Biotaktix SubstratScan is the first solution to combine established nutrient analysis processes using NIR sensors, weighing data and an ERP software solution in a complete system, significantly simplifying processes at a biogas plant.”
With SubstratScan, slurry and digestate can be analysed directly at the biogas plant using NIR technology.
The system determines parameters including dry matter content and various nutrient values. The measurement data is automatically transferred to the Biotaktix ERP system, where it is linked to the corresponding deliveries, weighing tickets and other operational data.
This turns individual measurements into directly usable information for digital plant management. Operators can, for example, identify quality variations between slurry deliveries, assign analysis results to individual deliveries and digitally evaluate nutrient quantities in digestate.
SubstratScan is fully integrated into the Biotaktix platform. The biogas software brings together key processes relating to materials management, weighing data, substrates, inventories, documentation and other plant operations in a single system. This means sensor and operational data are not kept in isolation but can be evaluated together and used in downstream processes.
With the Silver Medal, DLG recognises not only the sensor technology itself, but in particular the integration of NIR analysis, weighing data and ERP software into a seamless digital process.
