ATX IR AluXheat heating system – warmth for piglet rearing

The ATX IR AluXheat heating system combines maximum energy efficiency with maximum safety. Infrared heat waves provide the piglets' bodies with important vital energy. Optimum lying positions demonstrate their physical comfort and enable higher growth rates. In recognition of its innovation, the AluXheat received the EuroTier 2026 Innovation Award Silver Medal.

Aluminium housing – safe, robust
The closed aluminium housing acts as a safety barrier: in the rare case of an electrical short circuit, it prevents the ignition of flammable materials. Thanks to the earth terminal, the element is additionally protected by the RCCB, which reliably identifies malfunctions. This level of protection sets the AluXheat apart from standard IR heating elements on the market. The high-quality housing protects the inside of the element from moisture, barn gases and mechanical load. It is fully foam-filled and waterproof, and its IPX9 certification means it can withstand high-pressure cleaning.

High heating power
The special matt black coating increases heating power by 10–15% compared to its predecessor. Together with the insulated rear, it delivers strong IR radiation with low energy consumption.

Smart technology inside
A fully insulated stainless steel heating wire with high-temperature FEP insulation protects the system against aggressive environmental factors. The closed-cell PIR foam provides reliable protection against water ingress. An integrated GORE-TEX® membrane ensures reliable pressure equalisation, allowing air that expands during heating to escape in a controlled way.

Suitable for all pigpen systems
The tried and tested heating system with the AluXheat heating element can be integrated into all pigpen systems:

• PP nests (ATX® Thermonest) as well as HPL, wooden and Forex nests
• Triangular or rectangular nests
• Organic or conventional farms
• Warm or cold housing

Swiss-made quality
 More than 80% of the components are manufactured in Switzerland. Close cooperation with Swiss suppliers and manufacturing partners guarantees the highest quality standards. A patent application for the product was filed in summer 2025.
