Protan-50 (50% tannalbin, tannin–protein complexation)

Protan-50 is a premium premix containing 50% tannalbin, standardized to provide ≥25% tannic acid. Tannalbin is a non-astringent tannin–protein complex that modifies tannin reactivity and enables controlled slow release in the gastrointestinal tract.

Through tannin–protein complexation, Protan-50 minimizes premature tannin interactions with dietary components, improving feed compatibility while extending tannin functionality along the gastrointestinal tract. Functionally, it supports intestinal barrier integrity and fecal consistency, helping manage wet litter and diarrhea as well as CPNV-associated feed passage issues. In swine, Protan-50 can also be incorporated into feeding strategies designed to replace pharmacological levels of ZnO.
