Taking responsibility together: MIAVIT and Vétérinaires Sans Frontières Germany (VSF Germany)

The health of humans, animals and the environment is inextricably linked. This ‘One Health’ approach is the focus of the collaboration between MIAVIT and Vétérinaires Sans Frontières Germany. Since 2024, MIAVIT has been supporting the organisation’s work through technical expertise and financial support. Together, they pursue the goal of sustainably strengthening the livelihoods of local communities in East Africa. Particular focus is placed on pastoralist communities, whose income, nutrition and health depend directly on the health and productivity of their animals.

MIAVIT’s commitment deliberately goes beyond purely financial support, enabling the company to contribute its existing expertise within the framework of joint projects. As a company specialising in animal nutrition, MIAVIT is committed to the health and welfare of animals on a daily basis – in line with its guiding principle of ‘prevention instead of medication’. The partnership with Vétérinaires Sans Frontières Germany offers the opportunity to fulfil this responsibility beyond the company’s own commercial activities and to contribute to the sustainable improvement of living conditions for both people and animals in East Africa.

A significant milestone in the partnership came in September 2026 with the joint establishment of the Vétérinaires Sans Frontières Germany Foundation. The foundation aims to strengthen the organisation’s work in the long term and create further opportunities to implement, develop and sustainably secure projects.

Through this commitment, MIAVIT would like to contribute to ensuring that healthy animals can continue to provide a secure livelihood for people in the future. The partnership with Vétérinaires Sans Frontières Germany demonstrates how corporate responsibility and professional expertise go hand in hand to bring about sustainable change.
