In addition to the solar energisers from horizont Animal Care, Hotline Electric Fencing, the Group’s UK-based company, further expands the portfolio.

For small paddocks and flexible entry-level use

The trapper®AS25 from horizont Animal Care is the compact entry-level model in the current solar range. It is designed for fence lengths of up to three kilometres and combines an integrated 12 W solar panel with a 12 V battery. This makes the unit particularly suitable for smaller fence systems and applications where a compact, easy-to-handle and mains-independent solution is required.

For medium-sized fence systems

For more demanding applications on compact to medium-sized grazing areas, horizont Animal Care offers the farmer® AS50. The solar electric fence energiser is designed for fence lengths of up to four kilometres and is also equipped with a 12 W solar panel.

For long fences and professional applications

For longer fence lines, the farmer® AS180 is designed to meet more demanding requirements. As the most powerful model in the revised solar range, it is suitable for fence lengths of up to 14 kilometres. With a 24 W solar panel, it offers greater solar capacity and is therefore particularly well suited to larger grazing areas and longer fence systems.

Compact solar case systems for flexible use

With the ranger®AS1000SC and ranger® AS1800SC, horizont expands its solar range with two particularly compact all-in-one solutions. The electric fence energiser, battery, connection accessories and a 15 W glass solar panel with monocrystalline solar cells are all housed neatly within a robust case system. The AS1000SC provides an output energy of 1 joule, while the AS1800SC delivers 1.8 joules. Additional storage space for a second battery make the systems flexible solutions for mains-independent electric fence power supply.

For demanding grazing situations

The ranger®AS3000 and ranger® AS5000 go one step further. These complete 12 V solar units have been specifically developed for demanding grazing situations where no external power supply is available but a high level of fencing reliability is still required. A 30 W solar panel works in combination with an MPPT charge controller which ensures that the available solar energy is used as efficiently as possible. A 36 Ah battery serves as the energy storage unit. In principle, the energiser can operate for up to ten days without direct sunlight. Even in cloudy conditions, the solar panel can continue to generate energy and thereby extend the potential operating time. With output energies of 3 and 5 joules respectively, the ranger® AS3000 and ranger®AS5000 electric fence energisers are aimed particularly at users who require a powerful, largely self-sufficient solar solution with intelligent energy management for larger or more demanding grazing situations.

Compact solar solution from the UK

The horizont group portfolio is further complemented by Hotline Electric Fencing, the Group’s UK-based company. The company is expanding its range with a particularly compact solar electric fence energiser with 0.15 joules of stored energy. An integrated 6 W toughened-glass solar panel supplies energy to a rechargeable 7 Ah battery.

The unit is designed for straightforward, self-sufficient operation and is particularly suitable for remote paddocks, smaller farms and locations where mains electricity is unavailable. Hotline’s latest power-saving technology uses the available energy as efficiently as possible and reduces the need for manual recharging. Its compact design, simple installation and straightforward operation make the Hotline solution particularly attractive wherever flexibility and low installation effort are key priorities.
