Silver Medal at the EuroTier Innovation Awards 2026

We are proud to announce that our SpaceKit slurry system has been awarded a Silver Medal at the EuroTier Innovation Awards 2026.

SpaceKit is an innovative slurry management system developed to significantly reduce emissions from pig housing while improving air quality and reducing the need for concrete construction below the slats.

The specially designed funnel-shaped slurry cassettes minimize the exposed surface area of the slurry. Combined with frequent slurry removal, this reduces both the amount of slurry stored beneath the animals and the time it remains in the warm housing environment.

The system ensures:

• Up to 62% lower ammonia emissions
• Up to 92% lower methane and greenhouse gas formation
• Up to 50% reduction in odor

Less concrete and more efficient slurry handling

The SpaceKit cassettes are manufactured from recyclable, corrosion-resistant LDPE with low-adhesion surface properties, supporting efficient slurry flow and easy cleaning. SpaceKit replaces most of the traditional concrete construction below the slats. The cassettes are installed on a prepared sand base in a simple modular system, while integrated GRP construction profiles provide the load-bearing structure for slats, equipment and animals.

Integrated pit ventilation for better air quality

SpaceKit combines slurry handling with an integrated pit ventilation system. Up to 20% of the total ventilation air can be extracted from beneath the slats, close to the source of emissions.

This reduces the amount of polluted air entering the main pig housing area, helping to improve air quality and improve conditions for both pigs and personnel.

By combining a reduced slurry surface, frequent slurry removal, integrated pit ventilation and significantly less concrete, SpaceKit provides a new approach to more efficient and environmentally responsible slurry management.
