Tannic acid

(1) Tannic acid has obvious inhibitory effect on a variety of bacteria, fungi and yeast. It can inhibit the growth of harmful microorganisms.

(2) Tannic acid has a strong inhibitory effect on parasites and their ability to lay eggs. It can inhibiting gastrointestinal parasites.

(3) Antioxidant & free radical scavenging: Tannic acid containing o-phenol hydroxyl group is an excellent hydrogen donor with great significant scavenging effect on super-oxide anion radical, hydroxyl radical and other oxygen free radicals. It can make many biological macromolecules in the body such as protein, DNA, lipids from free radical attack to protect the body tissue.

(4) Antiviral: Tannic acid can effectively inhibit H7N1, H5N2, bursal disease virus, avian infectious bronchitis, visceral Newcastle disease virus, infectious laryngotracheitis virus. It is also one of the effective components which infectious bronchitis and laryngotracheitis virus.
