Japy Tech, a French manufacturer of milk cooling tanks with over a hundred years of experience, now processes 7 to 10 times more order requests with the same team, since switching to Hive CPQ.
Japy Tech sells around 1,000 units a year to more than 50 countries, working through a network of several hundred distributors who act as local Japy agents for dairy farms worldwide. Before Hive CPQ, that network ran on manual work: distributors configured products using screenshots from a complex legacy system, and Japy's sales reps had to manually check every combination for compatibility and availability before a quote could go out. Processing a single order could take one to three days.
CEO Philippe Breiss explains that finding a solution that saved time on quotes and gave distributors more autonomy was crucial to staying ahead in the industry. An internal audit pointed to CPQ, with one clear requirement: distributors needed to configure complex products and get an accurate price without waiting on Japy's team.
Ease of use was non-negotiable. An early attempt with an ERP configurator module fell flat, since even trained Japy staff found the interface too complex. Hive CPQ, integrated directly with Japy's SAP system, offered something distributors could use without training, and Japy Tech's internal team could maintain on their own.
The results, since going live in 2021, speak for themselves. With product data always in sync with SAP, distributors work from accurate pricing and availability at all times, and Japy's sales reps have shifted from checking data to supporting their distribution network directly, freeing up time to focus on new product development.
We deliver to more dealers now, and we do it much faster than before.
