92 % of ammonia emissions in Germany come from agriculture, 19 % of that from pig farming. Urease inhibitors (UI) have already proven to be an effective way to reduce ammonia emissions. The aim of the current IMPROVE project is to develop and test a complete system consisting of dosing, mixing and filling devices and associated application technology specific to different functional requirements for the use of urease inhibitors in naturally ventilated pig houses. The system is expected to achieve effective, practical and safe reduction of ammonia emissions.
