About
For many years, claw lesions were viewed mainly as a welfare and lameness issue. Zinpro research spanning more than 15 years revealed a strong link between claw health and sow productivity. Analysis of thousands of claw lesion records worldwide showed significant associations with piglets born alive, stillbirth rate and sow longevity. These findings led to the development of the Zinpro® Sow Excellence Index (SEI), the swine industry's first data driven benchmarking system linking claw lesion severity to reproductive performance. This presentation will explain the science behind and show how claw health can help producers benchmark performance, identify risks and an improve productivity.
