Fermented plant-based components are gaining increasing interest in animal nutrition. Using FPM, a fermented plant macerate based on 45 selected herbs, scientific studies on intestinal barrier function, oxidative stress and inflammatory responses will be presented. In addition, first experiences from practical animal nutrition will be discussed and the findings will be put into perspective for future feeding concepts.
