Bristle removal is a particular technical challenge in mobile pig slaughter. The “Bristle Remover” project is developing an energy-efficient, fully mobile process that combines steam with a low-dose supply of hot water. The presentation outlines the technical requirements, the development process and the results of initial practical trials. It focuses on effective bristle removal, hygienic processing, and water and energy consumption under mobile operating conditions.
