Modern technologies are becoming increasingly important in poultry farming and breeding. The use of sophisticated camera technology, combined with intelligent algorithms, automation and robotics, can make a positive contribution to the welfare of both animals and people. Jörg Hurlin, Managing Director of Agri Advanced Technologies, reports on pioneering technologies that were awarded the DLG Innovation Prize at EuroTier 2024. The automatic vaccination robot ‘Vaccybot’, the ‘eggytizer’ for innovative hatching egg disinfection and ‘Cheggy Zoom’ for in-egg sex determination have since been deployed worldwide and are proving their worth in practice.
