PerformaNat EnergyBolus – targeted support in cases of energy deficit and ketosis risk
Around calving, the cow’s energy demand rises sharply, while feed intake often decreases. This is exactly when the risk of negative energy balance and subclinical ketosis develops. Subclinical ketosis is not always visible, but it costs performance, burdens the liver, reduces feed intake and can make the start into lactation much more difficult.
The PerformaNat EnergyBolus was developed for cows that need additional support for their energy metabolism after calving. It combines three modes of action in one bolus: propionate provides rapidly available energy – the immediate “first response” when the cow urgently needs energy. Phytogenic active compounds support feed intake and help the cow return to eating more quickly. Choline and methionine support the liver, while live yeasts stabilize rumen fermentation and promote the formation of propionate.
What sets it apart from conventional energy supplements: the EnergyBolus does not only act short-term, but supports the cow in several stages. Rapidly through propionate, medium-term through improved feed intake, and long-term through liver support and rumen function. The goal is not only to provide energy, but to help the cow move more stably through the ketosis risk phase and into lactation.
For the farm, this means: easy application, targeted support in cases of ketosis risk and little additional work – regardless of the feeding concept.
