FAQ

At the EuroTier 2024 trade fair, TECHNA will be presenting its know-how and latest solutions for improving feed efficiency, reproductive performance and animal welfare. These solutions, designed for feed manufacturers, production organisations and livestock farmers, reaffirm the Group's commitment to the sustainable performance of the livestock industry.
Promoting animal welfare by reducing stress on farms
Having already made a commitment to improving animal welfare for pigs with the RobusZen solution, the Group is now extending this expertise to poultry with the launch of 'Gallicalm' in its 'Feedia' range: a premix of additives composed of active plant ingredients designed to reduce stress in poultry rearing, and to limit deviant behaviour such as pecking between birds, which can lead to feather loss, injuries and even serious complications such as cannibalism.
Tested in partnership with New Castle University, Gallicalm reduces severe pecking by an average of 30%. This natural solution, which can be incorporated into feed for all types of poultry (layers, chickens, ducks and guinea fowl), also helps to limit the use of medicinal treatments and encourages poultry farming that is more respectful of the poultry's needs.
A natural solution for optimising reproduction on cattle farms
With the constant expansion of herds, effective management of reproduction from calving onwards is essential to optimise the production performance of cattle farms. To support farmers, TECHNA has developed the 'Metrabol' bolus, a natural feed supplement from the 'Natual' range, designed to promote the reproductive health of cows by accelerating the recovery of the uterus after calving.
Developed in collaboration with animal reproduction experts and tested on a sample of 40,000 cows, the "Metrabol" bolus significantly increases the chances of a successful first artificial insemination, reducing the interval between calvings by an average of 6.4 days. As a result, 8 out of 10 cows are ready to breed just 30 days after calving.
This solution enables farmers to increase the profitability of their herds, with an average gain of €8.6 per cow.
In addition, the health benefits of the Metrabol solution are helping to limit the use of antibiotics on farms.
Maximising livestock performance through improved feed efficiency
To optimise feed costs and farm performance, TECHNA is offering a solution from its "Feedia" range to maximise energy use in dairy and beef cattle: "Elensis". This blend of natural active ingredients acts on two levels:
● In the rumen, by increasing the production of volatile fatty acids and the propionate/acetate ratio;
● And in the intestine, by improving the absorption of nutrients.
This TECHNA innovation has been developed to increase milk production by +1.5 kg per cow per day and growth with +4 to +6% average daily gain. This also translates into a reduction in feed costs of 1 to 3%, increasing the margin on feed costs for feed manufacturers.
At the same time, to improve protein digestibility in aquaculture feeds, TECHNA has developed "Economix" in its "Feedia" range, a premix of plant-based additives designed to stimulate acid production and enzymatic activity in the digestive tract of fish and shrimp. This unique process :
● Facilitates the breakdown and absorption of proteins
● Reduces crude protein requirements and the inclusion of 1% and 2% fishmeal
● Replaces animal proteins with more sustainable and profitable plant proteins
● And reduces feed costs by 1 to 3%, while maintaining optimum growth performance.
