Nukamel’s Piglait Concept
The lactation and weaning periods represent significant challenges for pig producers, with weaning being one of the most critical and stressful moments in a piglet’s life. To tackle these challenges, we developed the Piglait Concept that offers essential support to ensure piglets get a good and strong start in their early days through proper nutrition and effective management practices. We view the lactation phase as crucial for ensuring the well-being of piglets, which is vital for their future productive stages and the overall success of the farm.
A tailored Approach
Our Piglait Concept is founded on a personalized approach centered around three key pillars of success:
Recognizing that every farm is unique with their own goals and challenges, we offer personalized attention to work collaboratively with pig producers, ensuring mutual success.
Tailored Nutrition and management Solutions
In response to the current challenges faced by pig producers, we have developed two specialized lines of Piglet Milk Replacers:
Each Piglait line includes both initial and follow-up milk formulations, tailored to support piglets through each stage of the lactation period. This comprehensive approach ensures that piglets receive essential support at every critical phase of their early development, helping to maximize future productive success on the farm. Additionally, our Piglait milks can be supplied through our fully automated feeding system, “Piglait Cup System,” which provides fresh milk to piglets 24/7 via feeding cups.
Maximizing Eaters for Successful Weaning
A key factor in successful weaning is the early introduction of dry feed. Piglets that begin eating dry feed before weaning—referred to as "eaters"—experience a smoother transition compared to those that do not, known as "non-eaters." Our innovative Piglait Concept not only aims to reduce mortality rates and increase the number of piglets weaned per sow but also focuses on maximizing the number of eaters before weaning, effectively minimizing non-eaters to nearly zero. Which is reflected on healthier/stronger piglets after weaning.
With the Piglait Concept, we demonstrate that targeted nutritional and management strategies can reduce the number of piglets weaning at 3 weeks with a weight of less than 5 kg by 7%.
Conclusion
By addressing the nutritional needs of piglets before weaning, pig producers can enhance survival and growth rates, ultimately improving farm productivity. We are confident that our Piglait Concept can make a significant impact on modern pig production.
